Happy Birthday, Ctrl-Alt-Del!

08/14/2010 by Sylvain Hallé

According to a small inset the latest issue of the Comunications of the ACM, the use of Ctrl-Alt-Del was invented in 1980 by David Bradley, a designer of the original IBM PC. This makes the dreaded key sequence, used to reboot a PC in the old days, 30 years old.

Slashdot reported that story a couple of years ago. Remark how within three posts, the comment thread diverges (unsurprisingly?) to a discussion about Lord of the Rings.
